Nine Small Business Owners, 24 Floors, One Chance to Pitch Small Business Guru Marcus Lemonis

As a small business owner, you are often told to have your elevator pitch ready. Nine small business owners recently had the opportunity to put their pitch to the test in The UPS Store Elevator Pitch, a three-episode web series that invited business owners to ride to the top of the iconic Chicago Tribune building in an elevator with Entrepreneur and Host of CNBC’s The Profit, Marcus Lemonis.

As each floor illuminated, the entrepreneurs had 30 seconds to articulate their pitch and impress Lemonis, who fired off questions about everything from profit margins to revenue projections. In each episode, one entrepreneur is chosen as the winner and receives $10,000 and a Small Business Toolkit from The UPS Store to grow their business.

So what is the secret to impressing Lemonis?

“Be concise, be organized and let your passion and your idea come through during your elevator pitch,” said Lemonis. “Small business owners never know who they are going to meet, or opportunities that may arise. Having a strong, passionate elevator pitch can be an important tool for entrepreneurs as they meet potential customers, business partners and investors.”
