    Consumers know that sales tax varies depending on the state, but they do not expect to see huge hidden fees for shipping and handling. You can easily lose sales in scenarios where customers are blindsided by these fees, so it is important for you to disclose them early or adjust your overall pricing method with this in mind.
  • Make it fast
    Overall, it is important for you to make sure that customers can go through the checkout process quickly. And be sure to offer an outline above the information request screen that explains which steps are left in the purchasing process. If consumers keep clicking and finding new pages, they may leave your site in frustration.
4. Provide customer recommendations

Once you make a sale, you can easily determine what pages a consumer looked at on your site and which items he or she ended up buying. You can then use this information to offer that customer relevant product recommendations when he or she returns to your site. Amazon's algorithm is the best example of this practice. By offering these types of recommendations, you can provide the consumer with a better experience and increase the likelihood of further sales.

5. Make sure your look is consistent with your brand

Every decision you make on your eCommerce site is a branding choice, from the font and photography to the layout. As such, it is important for you to make sure that your site is consistent with your brand tone and values. And make sure that users can see everything on your site clearly.
